What Your Sitting Fee Pays For.

What Your Sitting fee pays for.

Prep work
I talk with you to discuss your image for your pictures.
I scout locations for you I like to find places that offer a little of everything but I want it to still  be easy for you find. If you pick the location and it is a public location I go a head of time to make notes and get a vision for how I want to set up the shots. If it is at your house I map it out with gps so I know how much time it will take for me to get there in plenty of time to set up and do light checks. I inspect, clean, and organize my equipments including props, backdrops (if needed), and camera equipment. Then I have to pack in the car. 3-5 hours

Day of session shoot
Double check all equipment.
Travel to location do final light checks and set up.
1-2.5 hours
You arrive. I explain to you the different poses and set ups as we go through the session.
I take my time I don't rush. If your little ones need a play break we take one I may even follow them with my gear snapping pictures some the best photos are often impromptu! Baby needs fed and changed take your time I understand these things and when everyone is happy the pictures turn out better! I offer to set up any pose you may have come across. My sessions are tailored to your individual preferences. 1-2 hours sometimes longer.
I go over the contract  and payment with you and set up a time frame for when you can expect your proofing gallery.
Then I finally head home.

Post processing done with in ten Business days
( I am still a full time mom)

I get home and immediately upload all images to Adobe Lightroom 4.
Cull through the images to around 15-20 for a family session.
Do all basic color adjustments with in that program then export the images to Adobe Photoshop CS5 for all custom touch ups and requested editing. 2-8 hours

Construct any card, requested collages, or specialty items. 2-4 hours
Create web sized images of the final work for you to share on facebook with your family and friends. Then I up load the images to your private password protected ordering gallery. 1 hour

This is all covered in your $75 sitting fee
Just food for thought those wondering why I charge what I do I am still considered relatively cheap in the world of photography. I have been told I am worth twice that and more but I have to stay competitive to make a living.
There is a great amount of other things that aren't listed that go into making your session but this is just a brief outline to give you the consumer some understanding.

Website= A Brainhurt

OK let me start with this AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I hate working on my website. I try to save every bit of money I can so instead of paying a few hundred dollars I decided to do it myself with a free build it your self site called WIX.(Some people say it is unprofessional well Judgey McJudgersons if I save money my clients save money so put that in your pipe and smoke it) I figured I have a eye for design ( I am a photographer after all lol) this shouldn't be so bad. I was wrong! Wix is great don't get wrong I am the dunder head here. My English teachers hated me for a reason. My grammar is horrible and my spelling well, lets just say I get corrected by my first grader. You never would have thought I got 1375 on the SATs haha. I am also a perfectionist so I will redo a page a hundred times before I get it right. Let's not forget figuring out exactly how to format your images on the website so they don't look like grainy poo(still working on that one really my pictures are so much more awesome then they look on there.) In other words this is giant BRAINHURT! So please if you see I missed spelled something, forgot a word, or something looks like poop TELL ME. Please I really do stink at this stuff. Trying to do all of this while the baby is trying to find and new and creative ways to give me a heart attack and the boys are turning my living room in to Chernobyl make it all the more joyful (sarcasm).
But all in all I really like what I have come up with. So take a look and feel free to leave feed back.

Working on it Wednesday! (Forever Learning)

Well, a lot of people say I rock at what I do. (photos that is house keeping still a work in progress and I hope I don't screw my kids up too badly with the parenting thing) But no matter what the fans and clients say I can find fault in all my work. But that is a good thing here is why. I am in a market that is beyond over saturated with people offering 100 a shots on a cd for $30(everyone has to start somewhere). Because of this I have to set to set my self apart from the herd and justify my prices with quality.( I am still considered too cheap by some photographer's though LOL) So I must consistently find ways to learn an improve so I can make more money (lets face it I love my art but I got bills to pay) to give my family the life I dream of for them.
I am always researching new techniques and refining the basics with books, online classes, workshops, and don't laugh youtube. Anything and everything I can find I use. I read, practice, and develop it into my own style. I hope I can always find faults in what I do because when I can't it means I quit caring. For me my photos are so much more then paper they are a view into the beauty of life and I put my heart into every picture I produce

So I will do everything I can to make every image as one of a kind and as beautiful as you are.

It is also my goal to share some of the beautiful images I am honored to capture. But before I do all that I need to figure how to work this thing!!! I have a migraine thinking about the brain hurt that is about to ensue. Oh well here I go please excuse all the goof ups I am about to make. as I try to figure this out. Oh snot the baby is heading to the toilet so I had better go stop her since I doubt the three year old flushed. Oh yes let the chaos begin. Welcome to my world.
